چکیده

Abstract Background The conventional infrapatellar approach to intramedullary nailing of tibial fractures adopts the supine high-flexion knee position. However, this has disadvantages including difficulty in obtaining proximal anteroposterior view during intraoperative fluoroscopy, prolonged duration fluoroscopy. Accordingly, present study investigated utility lateral position shaft fractures. Methods was a retrospective analysis 112 patients who sustained closed and treated with via approach. Patients were divided into two groups according surgical position: or supine. demographic clinical data collected analyzed. Advances in Intramedullary Nailing: Suprapatellar Nailing of Tibial Shaft Fractures in the Semiextended Position.

Reamed locked intramedullary nailing remains the standard treatment for displaced tibial shaft fractures. Supra-patellar tibial nailing in the semiextended position has been suggested as a safe and effective surgical technique that allows mitigating certain challenges of the standard subpatellar approach. Suprapatellar nailing seems to facilitate achieving and maintaining fracture reduction, pa...

Locked intramedullary nailing for displaced tibial shaft fractures.

We analysed the results of 93 tibial shaft fractures treated with the Grosse-Kempf locked nail. Twenty-six fractures were comminuted, 19 were open grade I to II, and 54 were located outside the middle third of the tibia. The deep infection rate was 3.2%. There were only two poor results. The use of this method is recommended and discussed.
